Review: Project X

Usually bloggers start with some super creative first line that grabs the attention of the reader in order for you to keep reading, i.e a lead. I will give it a shot. Imagine a movie that grabs your attention, extracts your soul, and places you in the middle of the most epic and cataclysmal house party ever created. With that being said, words could not describe the mayhem that is Project X.

Warning: Those over the age of 28 years old will not be interested in this movie/blog post so please do yourself a favor and discontinue from reading this post. Project X begins with a loser crew that consists of a poser, nerd, and average nice guy. These kids are about to plan the greatest party known to man in order to increase their popularity and “change the game” as Costa, the poser, stated on several occasions.

However, what set this movie apart from, let’s say Superbad or Hangover, was the fact that these were high school kids shooting a film with one of their best friends video camera. It gives you the feeling that you were actually at the party with these guys as they were saving a midget from being roasted in an oven, a 12-year old security guard tasing a local resident, and a drug dealer’s rampage through the streets setting the whole neighborhood ablaze.

In short, this movie felt like an experience rather than just a film. I highly suggest that if you are in either high school, college, or recently graduated from college, you should definitely check this movie out and see if you are not motivated to throw a party better than that one.
